The little moments

"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." ~Robert Brault
How often do we ignore the sunset and miss this great beauty? I know I often forget these small things that spread happiness, and sadly focus on the things that cause stress. But look at the gift Heavenly Father gave me today. A gorgous sunset that I got to see from my backyard. Look at all the colors he shared with me, because he loves me. And yes there are plenty of things that seem to be overwhelming that often stop me from looking around a noticing the sunset, or the joke, or the smile that someone shares with me... finals, white glove, packing and moving, trying to fullfill my calling, and trying to have a social life.... And all of these things are important. But obviously they aren't everything. In less than a week all of these will be gone. Finals will be over, my apartment will hopefully be clean, and to tell the truth it won't even be my apartment anymore... I'm moving yet again. But it's these little things that will bring me true joy. The sunset, time spent with friends doing nothing, talking with family or roommates or just serving someone else... yes these all could be big time consuming things, or they could be just that little break that gives you the strength to make it through your next big obstacle... because this is life... until you die there will always be something else to come, both the good and the bad. What am I going to focus on?
